Harvesting Peace Together
As temperatures cool, autumn colors appear, and leaves begin to fall, the Seattle Shambhala community joined together to celebrate the autumn equinox. Our annual Harvest of Peace celebration took place on September 22nd, incorporating our regular Sunday Open House. The morning began with a ritual lhasang, followed by the Shambhala Sadhana, meditation, a report from our Center Co-Director, and the welcoming of new members into our community (including several who spontaneously decided to join on the spot!). The celebrations were topped off by a delicious potluck lunch, accompanied by conversation, laughter, gratitude, and enjoyment – and not a single complaint about the rain that moved the celebration indoors!
The Harvest of Peace was a chance to enjoy the warmth of each other’s company and celebrate our basic goodness, as we rejoice in the changing of the seasons and give thanks for all that is good.
