Downtown Satellite Opening

Written by Matthew Bryan — We are pleased to announce that the Seattle Shambhala Center is opening a new satellite location in downtown Seattle! It will meet Tuesdays at 6:30 pm at Salt Room Yoga: 214 1st Avenue South, Suite G-7, Seattle.

We will offer basic meditation instruction, and a sitting session, followed by discussion. Everyone is welcome; this is perfect for both beginners and established meditators. We hope that by meeting on week nights downtown, it will give the hard working people in the heart of the city a group to practice with in the evenings after work. But of course everybody is welcome, regardless of their situation! Our first meeting will be May 20 at 7:00pm, when we wiAlaskan-Way-Viaductll have an opening ceremony, meditation instructions, and a short talk, led by our friend and teacher Ben Hines.

Whether or not you intend to join this satellite in the long term, we hope that you will make it to this opening ceremony to help spark the energy it needs to get started right – a sort of house warming! If you think this satellite may be a good fit for you, we would love to have your help getting it up and running. There is plenty of work to do related to advertising and setting up the space.
