How we are changes our world in a wakeful way regardless of what we do.

The foundation of an enlightened society is being unashamed of who you are. Empowering this quality in ourselves and others creates a culture of sanity and well-being.

Join visiting Shambhala teacher, Shastri Nicholas Kranz, for a special weekthun on creating a culture of nowness through the unique practices of social meditation. Participants will explore how we actively create culture in each moment, and learn ways we can bring authentic communication and leadership into our workplaces, relationships and communities.

In this weekthun format we will have a deeper exploration of social meditation. We will be able to practice two sessions a day of social meditation along with intensive sitting meditation practice. This will allow us to explore ways in which our meditation practice can manifest in our daily lives, and how a culture of nowness can build community and openness.

Who should attend? This program is designed for anyone who would like to bring the view of meditation further into their daily life, and those wishing to develop leadership skills and learn practices to foster enlightened culture in their communities. Leaders and members of current Ziji Collective groups as well as other youth groups already using social meditation forms are strongly encouraged to attend.

Shastri Nick Kranz was appointed Shastri by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in 2013. He has developed an approach to cultural transformation in the practice of Social Meditation, and worked with Youth Leadership development in the Shambhala community for the last decade. He is interested in the intersection of social entrepreneurship, awakened intentional community, and collaborative right livelihood.

Program will take place at the Seattle Shambhala Center. For more information, check out the Summer Weekthun webpage here.

Location: Seattle Shambhala Center, 3107 E Harrison St, Seattle.

Our Generosity Policy: We have a generosity policy to make our offerings available to all who wish to participate. If the program price is an obstacle for you, please consider what works for you, and offer as much of the program fee as you can. For those who can offer more than the program price, we have a "patron price". Your generosity in offering the patron price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price.

Early registration discount ($75 off regular price) until March 30th.
