Beginning in March 2024, we will shift to an Open Studio format for many of our labs. Look for special guest teachers to lead a Lab once per quarter.

Open Studio will start with a short, guided meditation with an experienced meditation instructor. A creative dharma prompt will be offered for inspiration, followed by a silent period to work on any project you like, i.e. drawing, singing, writing, knitting, or dancing. Finally, we’ll end with a group discussion where you can share your process or progress if you wish to. We look forward to sharing this uplifting experience with you!

Contact: [email protected] for any questions.

Anne Saitzyk co-founded Contemplative Creativity Lab in 2013, a monthly online public gathering that offers an assortment of contemplative art practices with various teachers. She met the Shambhala Buddhist dharma through the Dharma Art program in 1997 led by Steve Saitzyk and is Assistant Director of the international Shambhala Art program. She is the former Director of Contemplative Arts for Shambhala Los Angeles. Anne teaches painting at Art Center College of Design and occasionally teaches in other parts of the world. She’s inspired by the magic of community art practice and collaboration.

Contemplative Creativity Lab is about engaging the senses, bringing the fullness of our awareness to any activity, and connecting with our world. Everyone is warmly welcome, no exceptions. There is no need for any experience with art or meditation to take part. See more.

This program is a collaboration between Seattle Shambhala and LA Shambhala Centers. Registration is through the LA Shambhala Website.
