Summer Weekthun:

Illuminating Basic Goodness: Who Am I?

Exploring Identity and Belonging

July 29 – August 5, 2018

In this year’s Summer Weekthun, join Shastri Trinley Busby and visiting teacher Martina Bouey and immerse yourself in the practice of discovering basic goodness. Daily dharma talks, guided sessions of Shambhala Meditation, contemplative movement, experiential exercises, and directive inquiry will allow us to connect with the teachings, practices, our bodies, sense perceptions, and the world around us – allowing a deep sense of connection, wisdom, and joy to emerge.

This course fills requirements for both a weekthun and the Basic Goodness I module, and is open to all. Opportunities to practice the Shambhala Sadhana will be available.

The approach we take during this week long retreat focuses on rediscovering basic trust, gentleness, and curiosity about  fully connecting to our humanity and lives.

Using guided meditation sessions, contemplative movement, experiential exercises and directive inquiry, we will explore the classic Buddhist teachings on ego, alongside contemporary considerations of social identities and their relationship to systemic injustice in our society.
