Maitri & the Four Immeasurables [Online]
with Meli-Tashi Happy
Maitri & The Four Immeasurables help us understand our heart, finding our seeds of wisdom we can water through hearing, contemplating, and meditating.
Maitri means friendliness to ourselves and others. How can we be our own good friend along the path? How can we harness this friendship with ourselves into our relationships with others?
The Four Immeasurables are a practice we can do to deepen our ability to care for ourselves and others. It works both as a practice to open our hearts and minds, as well as a diagnostic for how we personally tighten up, so we can work on those areas.
This is the first module in a year of Mahayana studies hosted by Seattle Shambhala Center’s teachers on Zoom.
Throughout 2025 we’ll cover 5 modules, each are posted and registered for separately but you are encouraged to attend all if possible.
Module 1 - Maitri & The Four Immeasurables
Module 2 - Relative Bodhicitta & the Paramitas
Module 3 - Emptiness & Absolute Bodhicitta
