    3107 E Harrison St, Seattle

Join us before the celebration for Open House from 9:45 – 12:15. The Lhasang will begin at 12:45’ish, followed by a Potluck Lunch. Bring a dish to share! Children are very welcome.

Our celebration will reflect the richness of our center.

Harvest of Peace is one of four annual Nvida Day celebrations in Shambhala culture. Each of these holidays mark the turning of the seasons, hence the name Nvida Day (Nvi = sun and Da = moon).

Harvest of Peace is celebrated near the Autumn Equinox in the Northern hemisphere and the Spring Equinox in the Southern hemisphere. Historically, this special day is associated with the feeling of appreciation, the spirit of generosity and sharing the bounty of the season. It is an opportunity for our community to gather, practice together, enjoy good food and drink, and celebrate the richness of our local cultures and heritage. The theme of appreciationincludes all of these things, and especially the goodness of our bond as a community at this time.

We can be proud of the fact that our center is thriving and have appreciation for the all the effort and dedication that has been invested. This Harvest of Peace is our opportunity to proclaim our gratitude and joy for Harrison House, where we gather, practice and celebrate.

    • We will begin as usual with Open House, meditation instruction will be available, followed by sitting. Instead of a discussion group, the celebration will begin.
    • Lhasang
    • Share our baking and food offerings and views of our garden - if you wish, please do come prepared to show us a culinary achievement or some photos of flowers in your garden!
    • Children could take a discovery walk, using the binoculars and magnifying glasses provided.
    • Enjoy each other company and good fellowship
