Midsummer Day Celebration

June 23rd

Date details +

Please join us at the Seattle Shambhala Center for the Midsummer Day celebrations with friends and family. On this occasion, we will delight in being together at our beautiful center that is teaming with flowers, where all our senses come alive as we observe the summer solstice. We will also officially welcome our new Co-Directors, JoAnn Schindler and Annica Holder, as they take their oaths of office.

The festivities will begin at 8:30 AM with a lhasang (a traditional offering of juniper smoke) that purifies the environment and empowers the space, the objects, and the beings within it by invoking awakened energy. The practice of the Shambhala Sadhana will start at 9:00 AM, followed by meditation from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. We will then gather in the shrineroom for the oaths of office and a message from the Co-Directors.

At 12:30 we will enjoy a potluck lunch together. We will fire up the BBQ and provide beverages. Everyone is encouraged to bring something to put on the grill, and anything else you are inspired to share including salads, appetizers, dessert, music, poetry, games and other offerings.
