This class will study the buddhist analysis of ego and how we get entangled in samsara and suffering. The good news is that through our understanding, we can develop personal liberation from our psychological hang-ups and confusion.

Buddhist psychology is known as Abhidharma.  These are foundational teachings that are studied by all schools of Buddhism.  Each class will have reading assignments from a variety of sources. The main text is Glimpses of Abhidharma, which everyone is encouraged to purchase.  Other readings will be from Awakening from the Daydream, The Central Conception of Buddhism, and A Guided Tour of Hell

Assignment for first class Glimpses of Abhidharma, Chapters One and Nine, Introduction and Practice and Intellect.

Prerequisites: None, all are welcome.

Location: Seattle Shambhala Center, 3107 E Harison Street, Seattle
