We begin to see the needless quality of suffering of all sentient beings. And we are so roused by it that we want to do something...Then we say, "It may take me forever, but if the best way for me to help others is to attain Buddhahood myself, then that is what I will do." That is our vow...the basic character of a bodhisattva is boundless love, kindness, and compassion
. It is beyond aspiring and engaging -- it is actually happening.

This class is not mandatory for taking the bodhisattva vow, which will be offered by Acharya Richard John at Seattle Shambhala Center on Sunday, October 13, but it is highly encouraged for participants to take this class if at all possible. You are welcome to join the class whether or not you decide to take the vow.

The sourcebook for this class will be available for purchase ($22) at the first class.

Prerequisites: Refuge Vow, taken at least six months prior.

Location: Seattle Shambhala Center, 3107 E Harrison St, Seattle.

Registration: Please register online in advance, whether you are paying at that time or at a later date. This will allow you to receive any pre-class information and helps us to plan for the program.

If you plan to mail a check, please note this in the comment field of the online registration form. Your place in the program is guaranteed when payment is received.
