An update on the Center Director search

From the Search Committee and Governing Council

The Search Committee* for the new Center Director is in full swing. According to chairperson Keith Hitchcock, the committee has met twice and anticipates applications for Center Director to open within the next week. At that time, all members will receive an email including the job description and process for applying.

The Search Committee meetings thus far have focused on finalizing the job description and understanding the hiring process as proposed by the Governing Council. Once the Search Committee reviews applications, they will determine who to advance to the interview process. Candidates will participate in two rounds of stakeholder interviews.

The first round of interviews will include representation from the various functions/groups in our sangha such as affinity groups, open house coordinators, teachers, satellite leaders, children and families, kasung, societal health and well-being, membership, and the newsletter. The second round of stakeholder interviews will include those in roles that most regularly relate with the Center Director, including the Governing Council, facilities, finance, membership, and fundraising.

It is anticipated that the new Center Director will be seated within 1-2 months after Shambhala Day. During this interim period, the Governing Council will assume these responsibilities and can be reached at [email protected].

*The Search Committee members are Keith Hitchcock (chair), Andrea D’Asaro, Stacy Hall-Gomez, Randy Harris, Alan Ness, and Stephen Robinson.
