OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA“Ziji” is the Tibetan word for the innate, brilliant confidence possessed by all beings.

My Ziji is aroused! I’m going to San Francisco to meet the International Ziji Collective.  Inspired and supported by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, the Ziji Collective is a community of progressive individuals inspired to embody the Shambhala vision through collective action. The goals of Ziji are twofold, to give back to the sangha in the spirit of basic goodness and to create a social movement within Shambhala. Since its inception the group has spread to over 10 locations in the US and internationally.

From April 30th to May 2nd, Ziji Collective leaders are inviting interested individuals to join them at the first International Ziji Collective Leadership Summit in San Francisco. This is an exciting opportunity for young leaders to share ideas, experiences and inspiration. Currently San Francisco Shambhala Center prepares to welcome over 60 individuals from 6 countries and 18 different cities, including Seattle.annica

The scheduled programming aims to allow leaders share ideas, projects, struggles and solutions. Attendees will participate in discussions and workshops about conflict resolution techniques, ways to inspire creativity and how to understand the needs and interests of individual communities. Workshops will be held by Acharya Noel McLellan, Acharya Melissa Moore, Shastri Holly Gayley, Shastri Nick Kranz and other teachers and Ziji Collective leaders. In addition, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche will address the assembly in person.

If you are interested in attending the summit, it’s not too late! If the mission of the Ziji Collective inspires you, see the links below for more information and join me and other Seattle Shambhala members taking advantage of this amazing opportunity.
