Where’s the Beef?

Tom Wheres the beefIt was a cold day at the Shambhala Mountain Center, just up the hill from DENVER, when some staffers and visiting center directors got together to watch the Super Bowl. Just to heat things up a little, Seattle Director Tom Gaylord and Denver Director Nathan Railla made a bet on the game. The prize: a supply of salmon jerky if Denver won, or buffalo jerky if Seattle won.

Needless to say, three seconds into the game, the atmosphere at SMC suddenly got even colder. But Nathan, in sportsmanlike fashion, has delivered the prize. Unfortunately, buffalo are hard to catch in Denver…like footballs. Tom gleefully tossed out the Super Bowl beef jerky to cheering Seattle Seahawk fans on Shambhala Day.

“If it seems cruel, remember that impermanence is our world and there is always next year,” said Tom in his thank-you e-mail to his friend, the Denver fan.
