Governing Council Minutes Now on Website

by JoAnn Schindler

I didn’t know we have a Governing Council! Who is on it?  What do they do?

Have you ever heard this or said it yourself?  In fact we DO have a Governing Council who meet monthly to address a variety of topics related to vision, policy and operations of our Center. Sample topics include: What’s our current financial situation? How can we address concerns raised by our neighbors? How can we handle the increasing scheduling and space demands on our Center? What’s our policy for program pricing? What’s our focus for the next Harvest of Peace celebration? And much more!

Membership on the Governing Council is based on Shambhala’s four-pillar leadership model: Government, Practice and Education, Kasung, and Economy. Our current Governing Council includes Michael Busby, Center Director; Cheyenne Covington, Center Rusung; Sydney Munger, Director – Practice & Education; Cynthia Bradshaw, Chagdzö – Finance; Greg Wolk, Director –Culture and Decorum; Terry Jaworski, Director – Societal Health & Well-Being;  JoAnn Schindler, Council Secretary.

In an effort to make the work of the Council more visible to our community, a decision was recently made to post meeting minutes on the website. Follow this link to see the minutes from the past three meetings and check back each month for the latest postings.  The Governing Council minutes can also be found under ‘Community’ on the main menu.
